Supporting children through accessible skating opportunities and financial assistance
Our flagship program provides free skating passes to children whose families face financial challenges. These passes grant unlimited access to public skating sessions throughout the winter season, ensuring that every child can enjoy the rink as often as they wish.
To receive a free skating pass, families simply need to contact us confidentially. We do not require extensive documentation or proof of income—we trust our community members and believe in making the process as simple and dignified as possible.
While public skating is wonderful, structured lessons help children develop proper skating techniques, build confidence, and progress their skills. However, skating lessons can be expensive, often costing hundreds of dollars per season.
Our Lesson Subsidy program helps cover the cost of skating instruction for children who would otherwise be unable to afford it. We work directly with local skating instructors and programs to ensure children receive quality instruction.
We understand that not every family needs ongoing support, but sometimes a helping hand at the right moment can make all the difference. Our Drop-in Support program provides flexible assistance for families experiencing temporary financial difficulties or unexpected expenses.
This might include covering the cost of a single skating session, providing temporary equipment loans, or helping with transportation costs. We aim to be responsive to the evolving needs of families in our community.
Families can reach out to us at any time throughout the season, and we work quickly to provide the support needed to keep children skating and active.
Accessing our programs is simple and confidential. We believe in making the process as easy as possible for families who need support.
