Serving the Keremeos community with passion, dedication, and a commitment to inclusive recreation
The Friends of the Keremeos Skating Rink was established to address a critical need in our community: ensuring that every child has access to the physical, social, and developmental benefits of ice skating, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
Keremeos is a small but vibrant community in British Columbia's South Okanagan region. Our local skating rink has been a gathering place for generations, where children learn new skills, build friendships, and stay active during the long winter months.
Recognizing that registration fees and equipment costs can be prohibitive for many families, our organization was formed by dedicated community members who believe that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in this beloved winter tradition.
Keremeos, known as the "Fruit Stand Capital of Canada," is a close-knit community nestled in the beautiful Similkameen Valley. With a population of approximately 1,500 residents, we are a community that values connection, outdoor recreation, and supporting one another.
Our skating rink serves as more than just a sports facility—it's a vital community hub where families gather, friendships are forged, and children develop confidence, coordination, and teamwork skills.
The Friends of the Keremeos Skating Rink exists because our community believes in the power of recreation to strengthen families, build character, and create lasting memories.
Every child deserves access to recreation, regardless of financial circumstances.
We believe in the power of community support and collective action.
Physical activity is essential for healthy childhood development and well-being.
